Who is responsible
This site is published by Ostinato, the imprint for books written under the pen name Anna Kaufmann.
For anything in this policy — including every request described below — write to annakaufmann@ostinatobooks.com. A person reads that address and answers.
What we process, and why

We do not ask for your name. We do not build profiles ourselves, and we do not sell, rent or trade your email address.
Newsletter and double opt-in
Subscribing takes two steps. You submit the form, then you confirm through a link we email you. Until you confirm, you receive nothing else. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at annakaufmann@ostinatobooks.com.
Who processes data with us
- Cloudflare — hosting, delivery, email routing and security of this site.
- EmailOctopus — storage of the mailing list and sending of our emails.
- TikTok — advertising measurement, only after you accept marketing cookies.
- Amazon — once you click the buy button you are on Amazon, and Amazon's own privacy policy governs what happens there. We receive aggregated attribution reporting, not your identity.
International transfers
These providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where a transfer requires a safeguard, it is the one offered by the provider in its own data processing terms.
How long we keep it
Your email address stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and in any case no longer than 36 months after your last interaction. Consent records are kept for as long as needed to evidence the consent. Cookie lifetimes are in the Cookie Policy.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable form, and withdraw consent at any time — withdrawing does not undo what was lawful before. Write to annakaufmann@ostinatobooks.com. You may also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Cookies
Nothing but strictly necessary storage runs before you choose. See the Cookie Policy, and use to change your decision whenever you like.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is still no agreed standard for what a site should do with it, and this site does not change its behaviour in response to it. We do honour Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends that signal, we treat it as a refusal of marketing cookies — no banner appears and the TikTok Pixel is never loaded.
Children
These books are written for adults and this site is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor subscribed, write to us and we will delete the record.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
